I have been the librarian at Lincoln Elementary since 2014 after having taught in the classroom for 20 years at a variety of grade levels.
I began my teaching career 1994 in Emporia, Kansas. I taught 4th grade and 7th grade math and science for 3 years in Emporia before moving to Mulvane, Kansas where I taught 3rd grade for 3 years. I also taught 2nd grade for 8 years and 5th grade for 6 years here at Lincoln before moving into the librarian position in 2014.
My husband Jason and I have been married since 1993. As empty nesters we enjoy camping and traveling whenever we have the chance. We have 2 grown boys who both went through the Augusta school system. Jacob, my oldest, graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in civil engineering, and he then graduated from University of Texas in Austin with his structural engineering master’s degree. He then joined the Navy and has become a comissioned officer. He is currently training to be a jet pilot. He and his wife and daughter live in Meridian, Mississippi. Joseph, my youngest, is a journeyman electrician and lives in Austin, Texas with his wife. We spend a lot of time on the road visiting our kids (and granddaughter!)
As a librarian it’s no surprise I LOVE to read! I’m always reading or looking for my next great read.
