Structured Learning Teacher
I am a 1979 graduate of Piedmont Hills High School, in San Jose, California. I earned my Associate’s Degree from Cowley County Community College in 1981 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from Emporia State University in 1983.
My Bachelor’s Degree is Elementary Education and Special Education (EMH), Grades K-9.
I started teaching at Lincoln Elementary in 2011. Currently, I am the Structured Learning Teacher. I have the privilege of working with students with Autism and other disabilities.
I began my teaching career in 1983.
1983 – 1985 Cowley County Cooperative; Arkansas City, Kansas
1985 – 1986 Institute of Logopedics (currently known as Heartspring); I worked as a house manager for a group home on the campus
1986 – 2003 Institute of Logopedics (currently known as Heartspring); I worked as a classroom teacher with students with multiple disabilities, ages 5 – 17.
2003 – 2011 USD 260 Derby Schools; I taught Life Skills / Structured Learning (K – 5)
I live in Augusta, Kansas with my spouse. We have one daughter, Taylor. She is attending Kansas State University. EMAW!! We have one dog, Punkin, who is 12 years old.
When I’m not teaching or spending time with family. I enjoy reading, watching sports, playing racquetball, and spending time with friends.
