3rd Grade
I graduated from Labette County High School in Altamont, Kansas, in May 2001. I obtained my teaching license through Emporia State University and graduated in December 2005. Recently, I finished the graduate program at Fort Hays State University in May 2019.
Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an emphasis in special education (December 2005)
Master of Science in Education with a focus as a reading specialist (May 2019)
I started teaching at Lincoln Elementary in 2013 as a special education teacher for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. In 2015, I made the transition to teaching 3rd grade. Currently, I teach all subject areas, but I love teaching math and helping my students become lifelong readers and writers.
I began teaching for Augusta in 2006 at Garfield Elementary as a special education teacher. In this role, I worked with students in kindergarten through fifth grades.
Since 2006, I have been married to my husband, Keith. Together we have 4 children: Ella, Aniston, Paxton, and Brody. Our daughter, Ella, is a Bluejay at Augusta Middle School while Aniston, Paxton, and Brody are Lincoln Leopards like me. We live in Augusta and enjoy spending time outside with our dog, Scooby.
When I’m not at school, I enjoy doing home improvement projects, reading, watching movies, cooking scrumptious meals, exercising, and spending time with my family. I also serve and volunteer with the children’s program at my church.
