A note from Mrs. Lowery – the Lincoln Librarian:
I am excited to announce our third annual Battle of the Books or “BOB” competition. This exciting literacy activity is offered by the librarians of our school district at the elementary level. The students will experience different genres and authors as well as provide an opportunity for them to read 25 pre- selected books as they prepare to compete ‘Family Feud’ style with other classmates at the Lincoln BOB Competition, as well as a district competition against Garfield, Ewalt and Robinson in the spring. Battle of the Books is an activity that challenges children in all areas of literacy. The children need the support and encouragement of their families to ensure success. We are looking forward to this fun and challenging reading activity.
This activity is open to all third, fourth and fifth graders who enjoy literature and are willing to read and prepare for the Battle by reading at least 6-7 of the 25 books from this year’s Battle list. We had a building competition in March, 2019 . Our top two teams then represented Lincoln in the district competition in April, 2019. Congratulations to the 2 Lincoln teams for winning the Battle of the Books District Competition this year.
